Our Approach Works
Tempest is a recovery program that is proven to reduce the severity of symptoms of alcohol use disorder, anxiety, and depression.
Alcohol use disorder is a pattern of problematic drinking that runs on a spectrum of mild, moderate, to severe levels of alcohol dependence.
In a study done in partnership with the University of Buffalo and Syracuse University, Tempest’s evidence-based recovery program was shown to reduce the symptoms of alcohol use disorder by 50% as well as a 25% reduction in the severity of anxiety and depression symptoms.
Meet your Care Team
Our dedicated Care Team is here to support you every step of the way. Meet some of the team below.
Ruby Mehta,
LCSW, Clinical Operations Lead
Ruby advises our Care Team and helps us create the most supportive experience for our members. Before joining Tempest, Ruby provided therapy to folks who were dealing with anxiety, depression, and substance issues.
Whitney Combs,
Director of Coaching
Whitney started as a Tempest member before receiving her coaching certification through the National Society of Health Coaches. Whitney is a mother of four and she has extensive experience working with other parents who are in recovery.
DL Grant,
Peer Coach
DL works directly with Tempest members to help them make the most of the program. As a Tempest alum, they understand how difficult it can be to take those first steps toward healing. They hope to assist members in confronting old narratives, standing in their power, and accessing their joy.
Holly Whitaker,
Founder & Lead Instructor
Holly founded Tempest in 2014 after she couldn’t find an addiction treatment program that worked for her. Holly is a key developer and lead instructor at Tempest as well as the author of the bestselling book, Quit Like a Woman.
